Both are detrimental to your health, regardless of the version! In actuality, diet soda might even be worse for you than the regular form.

While I certainly hope none of you are smokers (That’s a topic for another day!), diet soda is just as damaging to your health and weight loss goals, despite it having fewer calories…

It is still a soda – full of awful ingredients that are guaranteed to discourage your health and desire to shed a few pounds. It’s basically one of the worst things that you can drink.

Proceed with caution – the truth about what you are doing to your body, health and weight loss goals when drinking diet soda may shock you. If not, they will absolutely convince you that there is definitely no room for this carbonated “calorie free” beverage within your diet.

People who drink diet soda had their waists grow 70 percent more than non-drinkers. As for the people who drank more than one a day, their belt sizes went up 5 times! How is this even possible?

One of the main ingredients of diet soda is high fructose corn syrup – and lots of it. This sole ingredient is one of the leading factors for weight gain as it has been linked to obesity, worsening diabetes, damaging your immune system, as well as causing metabolic syndrome AND speeds your body’s aging process…

That’s a whole lot of bad from only one of the harmful ingredients in diet soda.

Although it is completely disturbing to know that such an unhealthy product is still produced and enjoyed around the world, it’s certainly no surprise. Diet soda is full of aspartame which is an artificial sweetener that never satisfies the appetite, and actually inhibits the brain’s ability to receive the “feeling full” signal…

The more you drink, the less satisfied you become with your entire diet. As a result, you feel the need to drink and eat more and more, simply because your brain isn’t receiving the signal that you are actually full.

In addition, diet soda significantly increases your blood pressure levels, and the body can’t break down all of the sugar, so it gets stored as fat…

More, and more fat. It’s simply inevitable to achieve weight loss when being a diet soda drinker.

Your weight gain isn’t the only thing that should concern you as a consequence of drinking diet soda. It has been shown to increase your risk of cancer, diabetes, heart disease and many other threatening and dangerous illnesses. There are minimal natural ingredients in soda, and the negative effects that it has on your health are prominent.
