I know it. You know it. Everyone knows it.

Finding an exercise that is fun is probably the best advice that I can offer you, because if you aren’t enjoying yourself, you aren’t going to be enthused to go work out every day. That’s also not to mention that if you are going to work out, you should be doing it consistently, so that you can see results quicker and more prominently.

So, let’s forget about the boring options.

What Is Tabata?

In a nutshell, Tabata is a form of high-intensity interval training…

This also happens to be the best kind of exercise for losing weight! Just saying.

Basically, tabata requires you to go all out for 20 seconds, resting for 10, and then continuing to do so until you reach a total of 4 minutes…

Simple enough, right?

Wrong. Tabata is certain to kick your booty into high gear, and this is exactly what has to happen to be able to lose significant weight in such a short amount of time….

You have to exert your maximum amount of energy for the entire time…

Why 4 Minutes?

Tabata is known for increasing your aerobic capacity, resting metabolic rate, anaerobic capacity, VO2 max and can help you burn more fat simply due to the fact that you are working out to your highest potential…

4 minutes of intensity, or 60 minutes of an aerobic workout…

You choose, but keep in mind that the results will be dramatic and quicker with the shorter option.

4 minutes of tabata burns more fat than any other traditional form of a 60-minute aerobic workout…

How?

Basically, your body uses food for energy through three metabolic systems – one aerobic and two anaerobic. With a steady-pace style of workouts, people aren’t reaching each stage so they aren’t burning the fat that they should be with their exercise.

Not Done At 4 Minutes

Don’t get ahead of yourself just yet, though. 4 minutes of tabata does not mean that you can switch your exercise and fitness regime to only 4 minutes a day…

Too bad, right?

Luckily, after you feel like you’re going to pass out and die, you don’t have to take a jog around the block. However, you do want to continuously make healthy and clean choices within your diet…
