Bikini Season Is Coming: 5 Tips To Get Your Body In Gear

The year is flying by so fast. It feels like we were just celebrating the New Year not too long ago, and now it’s May already! It’s crazy.

And the fact that we’re in May is important to me for two reasons.

First, my birthday is later this month… and it’s a special one. I’m turning 40!

You know, they say forty is the new thirty and I have to agree. Because of my healthy lifestyle, I look and feel better now than I did even in my twenties. And I have no plans of letting myself go anytime soon.

Which brings me to point number two…

With the weather starting to really heat up, that means bikini season is coming!

I always loved the beach.

But after my transformation, where I lost 55 pounds of fat in just 90 days, I finally felt
comfortable going to the beach.

And here are the tips I use (and you can use) to get yourself bikini ready this summer:

1. Drink more water.

When you’re dehydrated, your metabolism slows down. You also get hunger cravings, which are really just your body crying out for water. So if you want to help your body drop that extra fat before beach season, you have to make sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water.

2. Don’t skip any meals.

Skipping meals will cause you to become really hungry later, and make you likely to overeat. You want to eat small meals every few hours to give your body the nutrients it needs and keep those metabolic fires burning.

3. Eat protein and fiber at every meal.

Eating small meals isn’t enough. You have to eat the right things at each meal. You want to make sure you get healthy servings of protein and fiber in all of your meals. These foods are very satisfying and help to keep you full with less calories. Good foods to eat are lean animal protein like chicken and fish. For your fiber, you can never go wrong with fruits and vegetables.

4. No carbs after lunch.

Carbs aren’t evil! They’re great sources of energy. But the key is to only eat them when you’re going to burn off that energy. That’s why you want to make sure to eat your carbs earlier in the day. At breakfast and lunch. Then as your day begins to wind down and you’re less active, cut out those carbs.

5. Do your morning cardio on an empty stomach.

Start your day off right with some healthy fat-burning cardio, first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. This is the best way for women to target that stubborn body fat.
