The Five Foods Every Woman Should Eat

Women have a metabolism and biological composition that is different from that of men. However, although the biological difference between men and women is expected to continue to exist, the physical and mental differences are changing more and more rapidly. Fifty years ago, it was impossible to imagine a woman having a high position in an organization and dealing with stress resulting from work, for instance. Equality between men and women is becoming more and more commonplace, and quite rightly so, but this does mean women need to think more about how they support their body properly in order to be able to remain healthy.

So what are the five foods that all women should eat in order to make sure of this?

The first thing all women should eat, possibly on a daily basis, is broccoli.

Broccoli is practically unrivaled among all foods when it comes to protecting against cancer. Its powerful phytonutrients not only help neutralize carcinogens, but they also stimulate detoxifying enzymes that help the body rid itself of cancer-causing and other harmful toxins.

Broccoli contains a range of nutrients, vitamins and minerals that are designed to protect the body from a range of different toxins. A woman’s body is exposed to all the various toxins in our environment and processed foods. Additionally, toxins are released through stress hormones. Broccoli can protect against all of these.

Wild Salmonsalmon

Salmon is one of the healthiest fish on the market. It is full of omega 3, which is necessary for a woman’s bones and brain. It should be pointed out that the body has to have balanced levels of omega 3 and omega 6. However, the food we consume on a daily basis is full of omega 6, which throws our body out of kilter. By consuming salmon, which has various other health benefits as well, the levels of omega 3 and 6 become balanced again.

Organic Sweet Potatoes

Any food a woman consumes should be organic or wild. This ensures that it has not be treated with pesticides and other harmful toxins. One particular root vegetable that women should consider consuming three to four times a week is sweet potato.

The deep orange color of an organic sweet potato shouts vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Sweet potatoes are also very low on the glycemic scale. This means they can – and should – be consumed by those following the GI diet. It is packed full of natural goodness and should be a staple part of any woman’s diet.

Everybody knows the old adage that “an apple a day keeps the doctor away,” and this continues to be true. The water contained in an apple helps to hydrate us. Additionally, it is a low-calorie fruit full of fiber, which means that it keeps you feeling full for a longer time. Indeed, apples are perfect for women who want to lose weight as well.

Farm Raised Eggs

Any egg that women eat should be farm raised. This means that the chickens were truly free range and kept in the right environment in which they can thrive. Only a healthy chicken is able to lay healthy eggs, so it cannot be stressed enough how important it is to always choose farm raised, free range eggs. The healthiest part of the egg is the yolk, so forget about the cholesterol warnings you may have heard in the past. That cholesterol warning was issued for battery hen eggs. Healthy eggs, besides being packed with healthy proteins, also make your skin and hair look more radiant, something that every woman would appreciate. After all, when you look good on the outside, you also feel good inside.
