My family bought me an awesome gift for Mother’s Day.
It’s something I use each and every day. It helps me to look and feel great and allows me to start my mornings with a quick boost of energy.
They bought me a juicer.
And they couldn’t have gotten it at a more perfect time.
With summer on its way, the weather is heating up. So it’s really important to stay hydrated.
And now I’m able to quench my thirst… while getting a healthy boost of nutrients from fruits and vegetables, all at once.
Because using my juicer, I’m able to take some of those delicious seasonal fruits we have growing in south Florida… and use them to make a drink that tastes great and is also great for you.
When you juice fruits and vegetables, all of the vitamins and minerals stay intact, helping your immune system keep you healthy.
But drinking fresh fruit and vegetable juice isn’t just a good way to get your vitamins and minerals…
It also helps you lose weight.
Fruits and vegetables are low in calories, but incredibly high in fiber. So by putting them into your juicer, you get a delicious drink that’s incredibly filling. It keeps you satisfied for a long time, allowing you to eat fewer calories throughout the day.
It also works wonders for your digestion.
Since the juice is high in fiber, it encourages healthy bowel movements. Fiber plays the role of your body’s broom. It picks up all the toxins in your intestines and safely eliminates them. It keeps you free from any “clogs” that would slow down your metabolism.
Juicing also helps keep your body in the proper pH balance for weight loss. You see, since vegetable juice is so high in minerals, it has an alkalizing effect on your body. This means it helps neutralize acids. And since fat is made up of acids (they’re called fatty acids), the more alkaline we become, the quicker we’re able to lose those stubborn pounds.
So what type of juice should you make?
Well, that’s up to you.
As long as you’re juicing fresh fruits and vegetables, you’re going to get a lot of great benefits from it. So you’re free to use the ones you enjoy most.
But if you’re looking for a recipe to try out, this is my personal favorite.
I combine a cucumber, a handful of spinach, some kale, and an apple.
If you’re worried about drinking green vegetables, don’t be. The delicious apple masks the taste of those vegetables. This allows you to take advantage of their high vitamin and mineral content… while actually enjoying something delicious.
So give juicing a try. I know how good it will make you feel.
